Anyone up for HC or BA Wednesday 7/18?

Postby Game Empire Chuck » Tue Jul 17, 2012 3:08 pm

I am finally over my cold and am interested in playing either Hail Caesar or Bolt Action tomorrow night. My SS are completely painted (Sean Hogan did an amazing job). Let me know if you want to play.

I would prefer to play HC. Derek, is that cool with you? I'm hoping Chris and some of the rest of the gang shows up as well.

Chuck -

regarding the Proximity Rule question from last night, I pulled the following off of the file you put up on the Yahoo Group with Rick Priestley's comments -

2) Do I have a qualifying enemy within my front zone and within 12" of my unit - even if only
partially so (and within sight - again this is assumed).
YES - Your next move must be to face an enemy unit - this can be any enemy unit within 3 of our
own moves distance i.e. 18 inches for infantry and 27 inches for most cavalry. By 'move' I mean
a single move - not a sequence of two or three moves - just a single move. Once again it is
assumed that the unit faces an enemy unit it can 'see' once it has turned to face it - not a unit on
the otherside of a town wall, hidden behind a hill, and so on.

The insistance on using the term "move" in the way that Hail Caesar does was, perhaps, not the most brilliant idea as it tends to unnecessarily confuse things. But a careful reading still makes it clear how this is supposed to work. If there's an enemy unit in front of you (but not *directly* in front of you - i.e. you're not already lined up; that's the previous question) that's within 12", and line of sight isn't blocked by terrain, then your first move must be spent lining yourself up with an enemy unit that's within three moves of you.
